Emma Hubka >
I am Emma Hubka, and I am currently a senior at Topeka High School. I participated in Project Lead The Way (PLTW) and a high school computer class in 8th grade. During my sophomore year of high school, I participated in Technovation, an all girl competition, where I learned that I could code an app. That year I discovered my love of computers and I knew I needed to be on my school’s web team. The web team completely remakes the school’s website each year, and this is my third year on the web team, and this year I am Webmaster. Through the computer classes I took at school I have had many opportunities. I have lead a team of peers at a CAPS Network Hackathon twice, done multiple internships with business partners in the community, and attended a “Girls Explore Tech” day where I learned how to program a Raspberry Pi. After high school, I plan on attending the University of Nebraska - Lincoln and majoring in Software Engineering.
